The Alpine Retreat is regularly voted among New Zealand's top luxury lodges. Our kitchen focuses on farm-to-table cuisine using premium South Island produce, and our guests include international celebrities, heads of state, and luxury travellers.
Role overview
- Assist Head Chef in menu planning and daily mise en place
- Lead a team of 3–4 kitchen hands and junior chefs
- Maintain food hygiene standards (NZ Food Safety Level 2)
- Create and test new dishes aligned with seasonal produce
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years in a professional kitchen at sous chef level
- Formal culinary qualification preferred
- Strong knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen protocols
- Eligible for NZ Working Holiday Visa or Accredited Employer Work Visa
